Late on the draw... I knew it was a Garlic Press... I have one too... and - wait let me check - mine is round too. Great for fresh garlic, because you don't have to take the skin off to press it.

Another technique is to use the side of a butcher knife and pound the garlic bulb out of its skin. It's a bit messier, but probably a bit more effective.

I put fresh garlic in just about everything I cook, so my Garlic Press is used frequently in my kitchen.

I cook and garlic press was my first guess. Looks like a nice on too. I'm a little old school when it comes to cooking, I chop, dice, mince everything by hand. In another life I spent a number of years in the food biz, so maybe that has something to with it too.

Hm, interesting. I'll assume a potato ricer is to make hashbrowns and such. I'll add it to my kitchen gadget list! :)

I think a ricer is machanically the same as a garlic press, but bigger.

You got it, Devin! You're too good. I think this is a stylish garlic press though because it's round and not square. Maybe? I always want to be stylish, but am never sure that I am ;) Anyway, I'll refrain from writing an entire paragraph about garlic presses, but oh, how I love this utensil. Think convenience! Think ease! Think no smelly fingertips!
