Rainbow

On Friday, there were numerous severe weather watches and it had been raining all day. Ryan and I ordered in and just as our food arrived, we saw a rainbow. There were actually two of them!

Dinner

Creamy Pumpkin Pasta.

Snack

Pumpernickel and onion pretzel sticks and tomato basil cheese curds. Hmmm… cheese curds.

Weekend

Ryan and I went to Illinois for a couple days this weekend to visit my Mom and Uncle. We also went to Allerton, a park I used to go to when I was little and my mom went to when she was little before me.

All around the estate are statues: some amusing, some intimidating, some majestic. And it occurs to me as I look through the pictures of our trip that Allerton is probably where I first started to appreciate art.

Best Games Ever

The photo above is of the two greatest games ever: Skip-Bo and Rummy. Unfortunately, the photo is missing Yahtzee. Each of which I always win at.

Weekend

Ryan and I went to a winery last weekend and they told us that some of the past owners had lived in this cave while they made improvements. Good thing they had something to drink.

Birthday

This was Ryan’s birthday present from last Saturday. I’m normally not very good at picking out presents, but I think I did pretty good this time…

I get by with a little help from my friends

And by friends, I mean books. Okay, people too. My friend Grace Boyle featured my books in her fabulous inspiration series.

Arrangements

The key to hanging art is to measure 58 inches (gallery eye-level) from the floor to the center of the art. With arrangements, first lay all the pieces out on the floor and rearrange until you like what you see. Then measure 58 inches from the floor to the center of the entire grouping.

Seaside

I went to the ocean recently and this was what I brought back, save for one twisty-turny shell that I gave away.
